A Academia de Artes e Ciências Televisivas anunciou nessa quinta-feira (10/7) os indicados ao Emmy 2014, a 66ª edição do prêmio responsável por celebrar os melhores da TV norte-americana.
Nessa edição, um dos destaques ficará para o duelo mortal nas categorias de drama entre a última metade da 5ª temporada de Breaking Bad, que concluiu a jornada de Walter White (Bryan Cranston), com a primeira temporada de True Detective, da HBO. As duas séries são favoritas nas categorias de Série de Drama e Ator em Série de Drama (onde Bryan Cranston, Matthew McConaughey e Woody Harrelson lutarão até a morte pelo troféu). Obviamente que produções como Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey e House of Cards, bem como atores como Jeff Daniels, Jon Hamm e Kevin Spacey, possam surpreender na categoria.
Na disputa pelo prêmio de Melhor Atriz em Série de Drama, veremos uma grande batalha entre ladies da TV também, com Claire Danes (Homeland) tendo de suar para manter seu prêmio longe da concorrência de Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) e Lizzy Caplan da novata Masters of Sex. Tatiana Maslany, de Orphan Black, foi mais uma vez ignorada pela Academia.
Nas séries de comédia, The Big Bang Theory, Louie, Orange is the New Black, Silicon Valley e Veep tentarão por um fim ao reinado de Modern Family na premiação.
